Greenpoint is the northernmost neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, in the U.S. state of New York. It is bordered on the southwest by Williamsburg at the Bushwick Inlet, on the southeast by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and East Williamsburg, on the north by Newtown Creek and Long Island City, Queens at the Pulaski Bridge, and on the west by the East River.
Greenpoint offers an eclectic mix of old and new. Family run corner stores and Eastern European restaurants fill the streets along with new young entrepreneurs opening up new cafes, bars and boutique shops. Greenpoint is thriving with new waterfront development, which has spurred new development inland as well.
Greenpoint is a beautiful mix of old brick townhomes and old industrial loft warehouses. An artistic vibe permeates the neighborhood with cool boutique shops and new creative work spaces and office.
The G-train is the train service, which takes you across Brooklyn to Long Island City where you can pick up the 7 Train to Grand Central or the L Train to Union Square. There is also the ferry service along the waterfront.
